Laura attended the University of Kentucky, completing her degree in social work in 1996. She has been a fully licensed clinician in NC since 2001. She achieved her M-Div degree in pastoral counseling and theological studies in 1988.
Laura has published over 30 books. Her expertise in bereavement, social and emotional learning, parenting, and emotional literacy have been captured in both fiction and nonfiction for children, parents and professionals.
